Asters (Symphyotrichum)

Asters bring a burst of color to the garden in late summer and fall, just when many other plants begin to fade. Their star-shaped blooms in shades of purple, pink, blue, and white provide a soft, cottage-garden feel and make excellent cut flowers.

These hardy perennials are beloved for their ability to attract pollinators—especially butterflies—and for extending seasonal color. Asters thrive in borders, naturalized plantings, and mixed containers.
